Spinal mobility in radiographic axial spondyloarthritis: criterion concurrent validity of classic and novel measurements

چکیده
Abstract Background Limitations in spinal mobility are a characteristic feature of Axial Spondyloarthritis. Current clinical measurements have shown low criterion-concurrent validity. This study sought to evaluate validity for clinically feasible measurement method measuring spine using tri-axial accelerometers. Methods Fifteen radiographic-Spondyloarthritis patients were recruited this study. Two postural reference radiographs, followed by three trials forward, left and right lateral bending taken. For all trials, collected: tape (Original Schober’s, Modified Modified-Modified Lateral Spinal Flexion Test Domjan Test), immediately synchronized radiograph accelerometer at end range forward bilateral flexion. The methods was compared the radiographic measures Pearson’s correlation coefficients. A Bland-Altman analysis conducted assess agreement. Results In bending, (r = 0.590, p 0.010) had stronger than measures. measure 0.743, 0.001) correlated 0.556, 0.016). test 0.708, 0.002) method. Conclusions Accelerometer demonstrated superior current bending. While moderate exists between radiographs found best tests examined

Radiographic axial spondyloarthritis versus ankylosing spondylitis.
Sirs, Braun et al. in their letter claim that in clinical practice there is no need to differentiate between a diagnosis of ‘radiographic axial spondylaorthritis (axSpA)’ and ‘non-radiographic axSpA (nr-axSpA) (1). Implicit in their reasoning is the view that nr-axSpA and AS represent one single entity, even though differences between the two entities have been reported, including gender, HLA-B...

Since 1984 the diagnosis of ankylosing spondylitis (AS) has been based upon the modified New York (mNY) criteria with mandatory presence of radiographic sacroiliitis, without which the diagnosis is not tenable. However, it may take years or decades for radiographic sacroiliitis to develop delaying the diagnosis for long periods. It did not matter in the past because no effective treatment was a...

The primary aim of the study was to evaluate the long-term effectiveness of adalimumab (ADA) in a cohort of non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis (nr-axSpA), and the secondary aims were to identify predictive factors of response and evaluate radiological progression. We evaluated 37 patients (male/female: 12/25; mean age 49 ± 14; mean disease duration: 6.3 ± 5.8) with active nr-axSpA (Assessm...
متن کاملExtra-articular manifestations and burden of disease in patients with radiographic and non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis.
OBJECTIVE Although the prevalence of peripheral and extra-articular disease in ankylosing spondylitis (AS) has been assessed in many studies, data on non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis (nr-axSpA) is scanty. The aim of this study was first, to compare radiographic-axSpA/AS (r-axSpA/AS) and nr-axSpA concerning peripheral arthritis and extra-articular manifestations (EAMs), and second, to as...
